When an Employee Takes a Leave of Absence
This form of leave is designed to help an employee deal with personal illnesses, caring responsibilities, family emrgencies, and the death or serious illness of close family memebers. Personal leave policy addresses situations that may not be covered by other types of leave. As such, it is particularly useful in addressing the many different aspect of work/life fit.
Personal leave requests and decisions on leave requests must be made in writing to avoid claims for unlawful discrimination in the administration of leave, which is a term or condition of employment.
